2019 marks Take That’s 30th Anniversary. To celebrate their milestone, the band have announced six dates at The O2 Arena, London in May performing all their much loved greatest hits live. They will be joined by special guest Rick Astley.
Take That have also confirmed the release of ‘Odyssey’ a re-imagined greatest hits album that takes the listener on a journey through the incredible musical history of one of the UK’s most successful bands of all time.
One thing Take That have never been is predictable, from the themes of the albums, to the epic productions around their live shows. ‘Odyssey’ is yet another lense through which fans can enjoy the band’s most successful work that has helped them achieve six No.1 albums and sell over 45 million records across 30 years.
This event takes place at The O2, which has achieved Gold Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
While it's hard to 'never forget' the tears shed by millions of fans when the band announced their split in 1996, they thankfully proved they were 'back for good' since their return in 2006 with the no.1 album 'Beautiful World'.
Releasing eight no.1 singles in the 90s, the Noughties have seen the boys reach bigger heights with their album sales, as 2008's 'The Circus' became the fastest selling album of that year, and they made even more 'Progress' in 2010, becoming the second fastest selling album in UK history, beaten only by Oasis 'Be Here Now'.
Of course, 'everything changes', and 2014 saw the departure of Jason Orange. But Take That took that as a sign not to split, and carry on as a fighting three-piece - Gary, Howard and Mark will continue to 'shine'.
