Duccio & Caro: Tim Marlow And Caroline Campbell In Conversation

Active almost 700 years apart, the Sienese painter Duccio and the late British sculptor Sir Anthony Caro may seem an unlikely pair. Yet both were preoccupied with space, movement, and architecture.

Caro was deeply moved by Duccio's 'Annuncation', creating a series of seven sculptures exploring Duccio's painting from shifting viewpoints. Join art historian Tim Marlow and curator Caroline Campbell as they discuss examine this creative interaction. What did Duccio's painting mean to Caro, and did he experience 'the anxiety of influence'?
