In the kingdom of Etherium, word spreads quickly that the dead king, slain in war, had recently sired a secret and illegitimate son, by blood the rightful heir to the throne. This baby soon becomes the catalyst for dispute and war over land and sea, with men faithful to the dead king swearing they will protect the baby, and forces overseas planning invasions to kill him and take for themselves the vulnerable throne of Etherium.

Toads, badger tattooists, elephants, and men riding on fat sparrows - everyone has something to fight for, and they'll fight to the death.
