Herman Dune is a French duo who formed in 1999. Originally a trio, the band now consists of David-Ivar Herman Dune (guitars and vocals), and Néman Herman Dune (drums and sometimes backing vocals). Néman, who is from Switzerland, replaced former drummer Omé in early 2001. On 13 December 2006, André Herman Dune played his last show with the band, and subsequently changed his name to Stanley Brinks. With Andre's departure, the umlaut was dropped from the name. The band is often joined by other musicians on live performances. These alt-country rockers make densely atmospheric, acoustic folk rock.

Each song has its story and the interphasing between vocalists, set in front of these songs will tell it to you. Are you sitting comfortably? Unapologetically literate and emotional, Comet Gain seek out inspiration as much in the music of girl-group era pop, heartfelt Americana, British post-punk, and 60s psychedelia, as in the words and images of the beat poets and in the cinema of both the British and French new-wave of the late 50 and early 60s.
