A welcome return for the talented Mr Harris, whose debut at the Kalamazoo last summer went down a storm.
Not hard to see why the Oxford--educated, Welsh-born poet has been in the forefront of the folk revival. This is the man who went to Kerrville folk festival in Texas and became the first non-American to win the best new songwriter prize, an award previously won by the likes of Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett and Gillian Welch.
His album The Flame and the Pelican received wide acclaim. "Captivating songwriting," said Martin Chilton of the Telegraph. "A unique approach to song composition," said Maverick magazine. "Utterly beautiful."
Tom Blackburn has been making a name for himself around the London folk scene with his heartfelt and
polished interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs and a guitar style that has people likening him to "a young Martin Simpson." When he's not wowing audiences with his intricate acoustic string work he is to be found playing the George Harrison role in a Beatles tribute band.
