Lords Of The Riff Vol. 2: Kyng + Lionize + Planet Of Zeus
Following on from the deafening and monstrously successful first instalment of Metal Hammer and Classic Rock's own Lords Of The Riff tour, which took place earlier this year and starred Scorpion Child, Monster Truck and Buffalo Summer, they are proud to announce that it's happening all over again. This autumn, venues around the UK will resound to the life-affirming sound of some of the heaviest riffs currently available to human ears, courtesy of three of the hottest new bands on the planet.
Unfortunately, original participants AntiMortem have announced that they are to go their separate ways and have withdrawn from the Lords Of The Riff 2 bill. Of course, nothing can stop of the power of The Riff. Greek stoner metal crew Planet Of Zeus have stepped up and joined the lineup, alongside fuzzedup bruisers Kyng and Hammond-driven groove merchants Lionize: a tripleheaded riff-driven monster that promises to deliver a uniquely thunderous rock’n’roll experience for the jaw-dropping price of only ten pounds per ticket!
"We truly love these bands, and it isn't often that Classic Rock and Metal Hammer agree on anything, so when we do, we party," says Alexander Milas, Editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer and TeamRock. "This tour is about getting behind the best young bands in our world for a proper run of dates, and for a fair price. We can't wait to see you there."
Lords Of The Riff Vol. 2 will hit the road in November for 11 skull-shattering dates that promise to be one of the hottest tickets in the heavy music world this autumn.
'Kyng find grandiosity in simplicity. The Los Angeles outfit may only boast three members but their collective roar could easily tip the Southern California Richter Scale.
On their second full-length album and first for Razor & Tie, Burn The Serum, the trio harks back to the essence of heavy rock 'n' roll, forging thunderous percussion to lightning hot riffs driven by a divine vocal howl. At the same time, they keep their eyes wide open towards the future. '

For a band with so little pretence, sometimes it can be easy to forget just how much the respected DC quartet Lionize has accomplished since their inception in 2004.
From being the first band to play both Bonnaroo and the Vans Warped Tour in the same year to their five full-length albums to virtually non-stop touring year after year, the groove-heavy rock group has dared to do more than most bands could ever hope to accomplish.
