Performance poetry: comedy's boring cousin, right? Stand up: poetry's idiot relation, yes? Let's find out. For the first time, the very best of London's spoken word scenes go head-to-head as comedy and poetry collide.
We're mashing up the two artforms for one night of spoken word: Stand Up & Slam! Six phenomenal acts from the worlds of comedy and poetry go head-to-head for your approval in three killer rounds of Stand-Up VS Performance Poetry.

Tim Clare is a writer, stand-up poet and musician, who performs all over the UK. He has written for the Guardian and the Times, presented the Channel 4 series 'How to Get a Book Deal', and has appeared on Radios 1 and 2.
He is a regular performer at many festivals including Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading, and Latitude.

Robert Auton tour dates
Paramount Funniest Student Runner Up 2009 and Chortle Student Comedy Awards Finalist 2009, Laura Lexx is a uniquely gleeful performer with an easy, chatty style that covers all things from the West Country to the aging process of socks.
Performing mainly in London and the South, Lexx is a chirpy addition to any line up.

Barry Ferns has been writing and performing comedy since he was 17 years old. He won the Glastonbury Festival Comedy competition and reached the semi final of So You Think You're funny.
He was described by Bristol's Venue Magazine as 'sickeningly talented' and by Matt Lucas as 'one of the best new acts I have ever seen'.

Paul Sweeney tour dates
A comedian, radio producer and writer. He was born in Hong Kong, and moved to Australia aged 12, before settling in the UK at 19. He has worked as a researcher for QI, and co-created the Radio 4 panel show The Museum of Curiosity.
