Mo & The Motherfunkers
"Mo & The Motherfunkers are a London based 7 piece Funk band fronted by Mo Marijatta, a drummer turned frontman. It was formed in 2000 mainly as a live gigging band by a group of fine professional musicians who have all previously played with top bands such as Osibisa, High Tension, Jazeera and also worked as session musicians with many others."

'Mo & The Motherfunkers was created at the tail end of the 90s when frontman Mo Marijatta and two other musicians decided to come together with other artists to play a gig on the eve of the new millennium 2000.
Fuelled by mutual interest in the Funk genre, they invited other musician friends to join them, including their current drummer who came and spiced up the sound with his awesome power. The crowd clicked with the band from that first gig and it became clear that they had something to offer. They have since played in venues across London and elsewhere, increasingly building up a loyal fan base.
With their high energy and soulful intensity that is rooted in improvisation, this raw dance orientated, booty shaking band is out to assure any party loving crowd that the Funk is not dead and the party will never be over.'
