Drawing influences from the classic groups of the hardbop era such as Wynton Kelly and the Ray Brown Trio, the Rob Barron Quartet plays new arrangements of timeless popular songs, from Rodgers and Hart to Stevie Wonder, as well as original compositions.
A mainstay of the London jazz scene, Rob has performed with artists such as Al Jarreau, Marlena Shaw, Phil Woods, Bob Mintzer and Benny Golson, the BBC Big Band, and the Ronnie Scotts All-Stars.
Colin Oxley is undoubtedly a class-leading guitar talent. Having been with Stacey Kent for many years, now currently appearing with the popular, hand-picked John Wilson Orchestra, he is also a professor at Guildhall School of Music in London where he teaches jazz guitar. He is admired by his peers as an exceptional musician.
