The band features the lineup of Freddie Gavita on trumpet, rising young star of the tenor saxophone Richard Shepherd, with swinging support from NYJO alumnus Rob Barron piano, award winning Adam King on double bass, and Matt Home on the drums.
In his tragically short 25 year life, before his car crash death, Clifford Brown?s ability to blendtechnique with emotion & create a rich, full sound, earned him praise as the pre-eminenttrumpeter. Starting in 1952, Brown?s short 4 years of jazz recordings began with the ArtBlakey band and reached the high spots with the famous quintet featuring Sonny Rollins &Max Roach.
