About the show

The Skapones - from Teeside with Love… a ska band who play hard-hitting and exceedingly sassy Specials, Selecter, Beat influenced originals as well as occasional classics and some fabulous selections in covers… it’s not all about Monkey Man ya know!

Specialized Project mover shakers too, a wonderful phenomenon that raises money for Teenage cancer Trust & Youth Music UK. You will undoubtedly have a brilliant night out in the Ancestral Seat Of British Ska (ahem, Dublin Castle pal) into the bargain.

But tonight is doubly Special (geddit) as front Skapone, vocalist and force of nature Paul Willo will be unveiling his book about The Specials for a unique RNR Book Club event. Paul is super well placed to write about this subject, as he’s an insider with the band and knows the subject inside out.

There will be an interview and Q and A on stage prior to The Skapones hitting the stage, and books will be on sale. Buy one. Buy two. Soon be Christmas.

Tony Bugbear downs the interview and hosts We Got Killers supplying the sizzling sounds to dance to til 2am.

Featuring - The Skapones

The Skapones appearing at this event

The Skapones are a new ska band based in the Tees Valley in England, featuring members and former musicians from The G Men, The Ska Beats, Major Accident and The Matics, along with the UK's No.1 tribute to Elton John on keyboards. The seven piece ensemble got together to play a music that they all love, and the chaps intend to perform a selection of 2 Tone anthems and other foot stomping tunes, with the objective of making you dance and smile.
