Alex Hunter is arrested following yet another bar fight, and is interviewed by police psychiatrist Dr. Helen Ashton.

What follows is a verbal duel between Dr. Ashton and Alex. He sees her as a well-meaning but ultimately naïve do-gooder working for them, the military family who no longer support or understand him.

As Helen tries to break through his barriers, we learn more about the chain events that have brought Alex to the police station. His story is told through dark humour.
