Blasphemy! Le Jeu And Bouffon Workshop
Blasphemy! The Bouffon Experiment Dive into the heart and Art of the Bouffon Clown.
This 5 day intensive workshop explores le jeu and bouffon. You will all play together discovering the principles of le jeu; major/minor, the fixed point, sensitivity, and impulse.
Then you will dive into the world of the bouffon helping you understand parody, the grotesque and your pleasure to mock.
You will discover how to use humour as a weapon in performance to create powerful, visceral theatre that engages, amuses and provokes its audience.
The workshop will be led by Mark Winstanley, co-artistic director of Clown Lab who has studied intensively with Philippe Gaulier, internationally renowned teacher of Clown and Bouffon. Mark has taught at RADA, East 15, RCSSD, The Actors Centre and many more.
