The Stand Up Club are officially excited to bring you the first ever Stand-Up Fest! Taking place in The Comedy Pub in Piccadilly, London, we have 19 of the UK's best comedians acts performing their new shows for you before they head off to Edinburgh or on UK tours.

We have a whole host of TV and radio stars including Josh Widdicombe, Nick Helm, Jen Brister, Jayde Adams and Charlie Baker!

Josh Widdicombe

Josh Widdicombe appearing at this event

Josh is best known as co-host of the twice BAFTA nominated and multiple Broadcast and RTS award winning show The Last Leg on Channel 4. With 14 critically acclaimed series under their belts Josh, alongside co-hosts Adam Hills and Alex Brooker, have been praised for their reaction and topical coverage of the weeks most harrowing of news stories, as well as their ability to open up the conversations surrounding disability through their coverage of the Paralympic Games and beyond. The Last Leg is currently in its 15th series, broadcast live at 10pm on Channel 4 on Friday nights. This series includes a Christmas Special on Friday 21st December and the show returns for a two hour long supersized edition at 9pm on New Year’s Eve where The Last Leg Of The Year will welcome 2019 in glorious fashion. Josh has made a number of other notable TV appearances including three series of his critically-acclaimed BBC sitcom JOSH which he created and starred in, team captain on BBC Two’s Insert Name Here as well as regular appearances on BBC’s Two’s QI, BBC One’s Have I Got New For You, Sky One’s A League of Their Own and on Dave’s Taskmaster (winner of series 1 plus crowned the Champions of Champions ultimate winner in 2017). Josh also hosts his own hugely successful 90’s football podcast Quickly Kevin, Will He Score? alongside Chris Scull and Michael Marden. In early 2019 Josh returns to DAVE to host the brand new series Hypothetical alongside James Acaster. Hypothetical is a brand new comedy panel show that tests two teams of comedians on their ability to deal with a series of ridiculous hypthetical scenarios.

Nick Helm

Nick Helm appearing at this event

Nick Helm is a loveable, endearing act who is as sharp as he is laugh-out-loud funny. Nick has also become a successful comic actor with the BBC sitcom 'Uncle'. Charlie Baker’s versatile talent as a stand-up comedian, actor, and highly acclaimed jazz-singer has seen him earn a reputation as ‘a superior take on the modern showman’ (The Guardian). He has starred in Sky One’s Harry Hill’s Teatime, BBC Two’s The Premier League Show, Extra Slice, Channel 4’s The Last Leg, Comedy Gala, The Superhuman Show and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store. His versatile talents as a stand-up comedian, actor, and highly acclaimed jazz-singer has seen him have sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival with his hit shows Baker’s Dozen, Just The One and The Hit Polisher which he then toured around the UK.

Simon Brodkin

Named “the world’s most famous blagger” by The Daily Telegraph, the acclaimed character comedian and untameable prankster Simon Brodkin has hit the headlines multiple times for his high profile stunts, usually in the guise of alter egos Lee Nelson or Jason Bent. Simon is also the writer, star and creator of two series of BBC Three’s ratings smash Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show and sketch series Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People, introducing the nation to a plethora of brilliant, new characters. He also made the 90-min special Jason Bent’s World Cup’s Best Ever Goals, Ever! (BBC Three). Lee has appeared multiple times on BBC One’s Live At The Apollo, both as guest and host.

Steve Bugeja

Steve Bugeja is one of comedy’s most exciting rising stars. Since winning the BBC New Comedy Award in 2013, Steve has gone on to host the BBC Radio 4 series Economics with Subtitles, and has made numerous appearances on TV shows such as Love Island: Aftersun (ITV2), Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC). Making a name for himself internationally, he has been invited to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the past two years, appearing on the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow (ABC1) and on Comedy Up Late (ABC1). Steve wrote and performed his own sketch 10 Things You Should Know as an Adult for BBC3, acted in 4Music’s sketch show Pop Sludge and starred in a viral comedy video for Lucozade alongside England footballer Harry Kane. A prolific writer, Steve was a key member of the writing team for The Russell Howard Hour (Sky1), and has contributed material to Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) CelebAbility (ITV2), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC2), The Now Show (BBC Radio 4) and The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4). In 2012, he and his writing partner won both the BBC’s Funny on Three sitcom competition, and BBC’S Jesting About 2 sketch competition. In 2018, Steve embarks on his fourth and largest national tour with Almost, following the success of a critically-acclaimed, sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe. The tour includes a 6-night run at London’s Soho Theatre. This tour follows his previous critically-acclaimed shows Summer Camp (2017), Unpronounceable (2016) and Day Release (2015).
