He has written with many top people, including Narada Michael Walden, hit writer and producer for Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, jammed with Jeff Beck, and received many great live and CD reviews in the "blues" press. Thursday 19th – Ellie Bignall Quintet Xmas Swing Party: Adding a Christmas twist to swinging standards and original compositions, the Ellie Bignall Quintet will be celebrating the season with a celebration of Great American Songbook and contemporary repertoire. Recently described as a 'rising young star', London-based jazz vocalist Ellie Bignall has swept her way onto the jazz scene with a style of singing that is very reminiscent of the forties and fifties; often likened to singers such as Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, Ellie combines a love of the Great American Songbook with a passion for contemporary jazz and composition. Featuring the talents of Ralph Wyld, piano, Tom Ridout, sax and Rod Oughton, drums, the Ellie Bignall Quintet plays on this, performing a combination of standards with a contemporary twist and their own compositions.
