Strikingly Simple Gifts
Southgate Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Adrian Brown, is joined by pianist, Alexander Soares (kindly supported by Making Music's Philip & Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists scheme), for this live performance. The evening opens with Copland's 'Appalachian Spring' with its famous variation on 'Simple Gifts', followed by Schumann's 'Piano Concerto in A minor'. We conclude with Haydn's 'Symphony no 100 in G major', the "Military Symphony".
