The Special Relationship
For November, the Special Relationship is raising money for the East End social enterprise, The Luminary Bakery (luminarybakery.blogspot.co.uk).
Luminary Bakery gives vulnerable and exploited women the opportunity to gain experience, confidence and support to run a small business. The bakery will be there on the 4th with samples.
For five pounds you get to do some good in the world, you get to stuff your face with baked goodies and you get the finest of literary entertainments from the Special Relationship.
For the 4th of November, they have:
- Katy Wix, (for real this time!) actress and writer, best known for being all over telly: Not Going Out, Torchwood, Outnumberd and Absolutely Fabulous.
- Naomi Wood, whose most recent novel Mrs. Hemingway has been published in 10 countries and was the winner of the 2014 Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize.
- Kate Maclean, lecturer specialising in feminist political economy and development in Latin America, and photographer David Green will be showing his photos of Bolivian medicine women.
Plus a special guest or two...
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
