Comedian, compere and playwright. This grumpy old man per excellence presents the BBC Radio 4 show 'Excess Baggage' and has written four plays including 'An Evening With Gary Lineker' and 'Live Bed Show'. His stand-up topics range from vigorous yodelling to mediaeval literature via death by drink. His delivery is relaxed and sardonic, but his shows are a surprising, dark and witty treat. He's also one of the many 'Grumpy Old Men' that appear on BBC 2's hit show. 'The funniest and most honest comic of his generation' (The List).

American Will Franken is a critically acclaimed satirist and high-speed, quick-change character comedian. Franken’s humour is rooted in the British sketch comedy tradition, notably Monty Python. Onstage, he portrays an eclectic mix of characters through a series of interconnected vignettes. His skits are often satirical, skewering a range of subcultures and political views, often absurdist. 'Strange, sometimes awkward, often funny and always interesting, Franken’s act is like Marmite – ****ing awesome – and deserves an audience as big as his character roster' (Three Weeks) 'Amidst the anodyne wannabe TV comics who are 40% hair product, 40% ego and 20% talent there is still plenty of the real thing to be found, comedically. Will Franken... is absolutely brilliant. Iron satire in a velvet glove. Clever, creative comedy' (The Scotsman) 'The sharp-clawed satire on US culture and liberal piety, and the constant upending of what it is we think we're watching, make for a unique and compelling hour... You can't take your eyes off these inspired outpourings' (The Guardian) 'Will Franken is an astounding character comedian who makes almost everyone else in his field look like lazy chancers' (Chortle).
