Petros Singers - Handel's Theodora
Handel’s penultimate and favourite oratorio, tells a story of love and persecution. The heroine, Theodora, is a Christian princess in Roman-occupied Antioch; her lover, Didymus, a Roman soldier who has recently converted to Christianity. Their trials of forbidden love and hidden faith inspired Handel to some of his greatest music.
Theodora will be sung by the 2008 London Handel Festival winner, Erica Eloff. Other soloists are Ciara Hendrick, Matthew Sandy and Rodney Earl Clarke.
