Semblance

Hackney women have been put centre-frame in a stunning new exhibition at Sutton House.

The lives, loves, losses of local women are brought to life in a set of stunning new images created by London artist Cherelle Sappleton. Created using collections of donated family photographs, some dating back to the Second World War, this exhibition creates a visual feast that stirs the emotions and provokes the senses, even opening the door to consider some of life’s big questions with the lightest of touches.

‘Semblance’ runs 11 July–15 November at National Trust’s Sutton House and Breaker’s Yard, E9 6JQ. Five minutes from Hackney Central station. Check opening times and dates in advance as these vary.
