Songs Without Borders

Eclectic Voices presents a tantalizing summer programme that centres round a newly commissioned piece, 7 Blake Songs based around William Blake’s poetry, by British composer and arranger John Ashton Thomas.

Thomas is well known for his work in film (Ice Age films, Bourne films, Avengers Assemble and many more) and to have him compose specifically for Eclectic Voices is a major coup. The choir will be joined on stage by the Martin Speake Jazz Trio, longstanding collaborators with EV director Scott Stroman.

In addition to 7 Blake Songs the choir performs a typically varied and international programme. Highlights include Benjamin Britten's Rejoice the Lamb, Argentine Ariel Ramirez's rich and colourful Misa Criolla and the fantastic Bach-meets-Brazil, Bachianas Brasilieras No. 9 by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
