In TooMortal, Shobana Jeyasingh explores both human vulnerability and human tenacity within a dramatic and historically resonant setting.

Building on the idea of the church as a place of enquiry as well as solace, TooMortal acts an intimate and thought provoking respite to the city streets outside.

The choreography contrasts and complements the rhythms, shapes and intentions of these historic buildings, exploiting their inherent theatricality. Jeyasingh offers surprising perspectives, siting both the audience and her six female dancers in unexpected places within the architectural narrative.
