Colonial Sun, Mally Harpaz

Multi instrumentalist Mally Harpaz (Anna Calvi, Hazel Iris, Colonial Sun, Jessica Lauren, Eran Karniel) performs her original compositions joined by a small number of phenomenal musicians and special guests.

Mally’s music weaves together experiences of deeply personal emotions and perceptions of esoteric atmospheres. In collaboration with renowned video artist Clara Aparicio Yoldi, she has created short musical experiences which both question and confirm our human need for connection.

Colonial Sun is the musical moniker of James Marples, an Australian singer-songwriter whose dark balladry has drawn comparisons with Howe Gelb, Sun Kil Moon and Mark Lanegan. Emotionally lucid and at times surreal, these songs draw on imagery from the Australian landscape to the decaying monuments of Empire.
