Elgar Sea Pictures

The London Premiere of Donald Fraser's arrangement of Elgar's song cycle Sea Pictures in a programme of six centuries of music from these islands, featuring Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music complete wiith solo violin, Purcell's Rejoice in the Lord alway, Handel's Let thy Hand be Strengthened, part songs by Parry, Stanford, Sullivan and Elgar and, folk arrangements by Morley, Ley and Seiber.

Instrumental interludes are provided by Constant Lambert's piano duet Trois pieces negres pour les touches blanches and Elgar's Chanson du Matin for violin and piano.
