HGO (Hampstead Garden Opera) will present the unique oratorio 'The Salvation of the Jews by Ester'. The Hebrew libretto by Rabbi Jacob Saraval, commissioned by the Jewish community of Amsterdam, and based on the text of Handel's oratorio 'Esther', was set to music by the Vienna-born master Cristiano Lidarti in the Italian style. The score was lost until its rediscovery in 1998 in the Cambridge University Library. It will be re-created by the chamber choir Londinium with the HGO Orchestra and soloists conducted by Andrew Griffiths.
