Echoes from the Mantuan ghetto, provided by music from the Hashirim Asher Li’Shlomo, a collection of psalm settings in Hebrew by Salomone Rossi, an Italian-Jewish contemporary of Monteverdi. Performed by a prize-winning young ensemble founded in Galilee, the concert also explores Rossi’s secular madrigals and trio sonatas.
