November is designated a 70th birthday recital, but the Moscow-born pianist – described by The
Times as 'this great poet of the piano' and by The New York Times as “a thoughtful, poetic player
willing to go out on a limb” – insists that '70 isn’t a milestone ... I see no magic in numbers'.
