Spanish Winter Warmer
The Academy of St Mary-le-Bow performs a programme of fiery Spanish music by Rimsky-Korsakov and da Falla to warm a January evening at St John's Church, Waterloo.
The programme begins with excertps from Manuel da Falla's colorful ballet, El Amor Brujo. The orchestra is joined by soprano Julieth Lozano to perform Berio's orchestration of da Falla's Seven Canciones Populares Españolas and the evening finishes with Rimsky-Korsakov's thrilling Capriccio Espagnol.
