Hispanic Reflections

Hispanic Reflections marks the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. The concert features James MacMillan’s haunting work about repression in Latin America, Cantos Sagrados, and Alan Charlton’s Mirror Suite, which is a setting of poems by Lorca.

Also in the programme are works selected from CEFC's ¡draw music! project inspired by Picasso’s Guerníca, as well as music on a Spanish war theme by renaissance composers Flecha and Victoria.
