St Charles Singers

The St Charles Singers, a professional American chamber choir of around 30 voices from Chicago, will be fiving a concert of some rarely heard American Music in St James’s Church, Piccadilly on Thursday 15th June at 7.30pm, notably Dominick Argento’s 'Walden Pond' (1996), a virtuosic and evocative five movement work for mixed choir, three cellos and harp.

The Chicago Tribune describes the choir as 'a splendidly disciplined and beautifully responsive group … choral singing doesn’t get much better than this'.

John Rutter, who has conducted them on a number of occasions when visiting the USA describes them as a choir of the highest calibre, sensitive, assured, and versatile.
