Edmund Waller Youth Orchestra

Come and hear the Edmund Waller Orchestra, 60 wonderful young musicians from our local primary school, expertly guided by Una Birtchnell through a programme celebrating waltzes from Europe, Russia and Italy.

From the familiar and playful Skaters Waltz, via the darker, subversive world of Shostakovich (music used in Eyes Wide Shut), they will turn to the vigour of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance and the hauntingly atmospheric waltz from Nino Rota’s score to The Godfather. This promises to be a celebration of the huge variety of emotions to be found within this dance form.

Be prepared to be dazzled by special guest appearances from former EWO musicians, inspiring all with classic favourites including Bach and Haydn.
