Poetry International Book Club - My Voice - A Decade of Poems From the Poetry Translation Centre

Join Poetry Library staff as we discuss poems from the anthology My Voice : a Decade of Poems from the Poetry Translation Centre. The anthology was launched at last year's Poetry International Festival and draws together poems from the UK's recent immigrant communities - for whom poetry is of overwhelming importance - translated into English by some of the UK’s leading poets. We will consider the poems in the light of the translators comments on their process, published as essays at the back of the book. As poet Chrissy Williams said in a recent review “My Voice offers us a vision of what poetry can be, bending the English language into different shapes and directions, and I would say that it is essential reading…”
