Out of the Shadows - Translating Unknown Iranian Poets

Poet Hubert Moore and translator Nasrin Parvaz read poems and discuss translating some of the less well-known poems in contemporary Iranian literature. Hubert and Nasrin have worked with a number of Iranian poets, whose keenly perceptive poems offer a very different view of day-to-day life in Iran. This issue of Modern Poetry in Translation features their translations of the ‘construction worker’ poet Sabeer Haka and is chaired by Sasha Dugdale, editor of Modern Poetry in Translation.
