Mushaira: A Poetic Symposium

Saleem Khan, Zahid Ullah Khan and Dilawar Khan, Pashto-speaking poets from Pakistan, join UK poets for a very special evening of spoken word and an introduction to a form of poetry that is very popular in Pakistan. These Pakistani poets fled the controls of the Taliban and censorship in their country to return to the poetry of nature and the mountains that they hold dear. With traditional Pakistani music and the passing of a candle, this event weaves together words of the Pashtun language and contemporary British poetry.
