Imagine Children's Singing Course
Do you love to sing and tell stories?
If you're aged 8 – 12 and enjoy performing, join a week-long singing course over February half term, as part of Imagine Children’s Festival. Sing songs inspired by well-known children’s stories and write your own songs as part of a group.
The course climaxes with a performance of your specially written piece in The Clore Ballroom on Friday 19 February. It will also forms part of Southbank Centre’s Dahl in a Day reading of Matilda on Thursday 18 February.
There are no auditions and no prior singing or performance experience is necessary – just plenty of enthusiasm, energy and commitment. This is the fourth Voicelab Children’s Singing Course – Voicelab is Southbank Centre’s vocal initiative, which welcomes everyone to come and sing.
In addition to Southbank Centre staff, there are licensed chaperones to accompany children at all times. Children need to bring a packed lunch and break time snacks. Parents and guardians are responsible for arranging the 9am drop-off and 3pm collection of their children. Once you have booked your child’s place, you will be contacted with full details and registration information prior to the course start date.
There are a limited number of free and subsidised places available; for information on the eligibility criteria and application details, please email voicelab@southbankcentre.co.uk.
