Every Brilliant Thing
Following performances at Edinburgh Festival and Off-Broadway, Every Brilliant Thing returns to London. Written by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, it tells the story of a six year old boy whose sick mum has been taken into hospital. Told by his father that she’s ‘done something stupid’ and finds it hard to be happy, he makes a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world and worth living for.
The list includes ice cream, Kung Fu movies and himself. Every Brilliant Thing is a play about depression and the lengths we go to for those we love. It was regarded by The Guardian’s Lyn Gardner as ‘one of the funniest plays you'll ever see about depression – and possibly one of the funniest plays you'll ever see’.
