Classic Car Boot Sale

The Classic Car Boot Sale with ‘Vintage Presents’ will return to Southbank Centre on 14-15 March 2015, with over 100 vehicles and traders selling the finest in vintage fashion, homewares and memorabilia from the boot of their vintage vehicles. This event with a festival feel has become firmly established as a highlight in the calendar for vintage fans, classic car admirers and shopping enthusiasts alike.

An impressive selection of classic cars, buses, campervans and bikes will be on display, with a rare chance to view classic show vehicles including the actual time-travelling Delorean as featured in the iconic Back to the Future films, Niki Lauda's Ferrari Formula 1 team van as shown in the film Rush, a collection of the world’s smallest cars including the very rare Tiger Messerschmitt and the exact replica of the famous ‘Golden Chopper’ that Raleigh produced in 1976 to mark its one millionth sale. Iconic vintage cars all restored to their original condition, such as an an Aston Martin DB4, a US Navy 1942 Chevy Style Master, and a rare 1948 Cheltenham Caravan will also be on display, plus a selection of extremely rare racing cars including a1953 Alfa Romeo ‘Disco Volante.’

Highlights among the traders at this year’s event include Crystal Vintage’s GLORIA Pop Up Boutique: a horsebox turned vintage shop that has been featured on Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces. Owner Chloe Le Fay globally sources 1920s-80s clothing and accessories from highly collectable labels such as Chanel, Dior and Ossie Clark. The Old Collectors Garage will be selling vintage advertising, Americana and vintage American gas pumps from the boot of a Chevy Panel Van, and vintage cake stands, tea sets and china will be on offer from Lancashire-based Willacy Whimsys. Emma Loves will return to the Classic Car Boot Sale specializing in vintage and up-cycled furniture and retro homewares, and Trevor Marchant’s selection of unique 1940s clothes and hats will be available from his Triumph Spitfire.

London’s finest food traders will also be at the event serving visitors premium street food, coffee and cocktails from vintage themed vans and campers. Brand new traders at this year’s event are Waffle On who serve up fresh waffles made with traditional cast iron machines, Wholefood Heaven’s fresh vegetarian fare served from a vintage Citroen van, deep Louisiana flavours from Hanks' Po' Boys and handmade gourmet ice lollies from Lickalix LTD. The Craft Beer Bus will also return to the event offering a wide range of craft beers from innovative breweries served from a converted 1959 Leyland Tiger Cub Bus.

Musical entertainment will come from the Vintage Festival Soul Casino and Let it Rock DJ’s who will be playing a strictly vinyl-only selection of toe tapping tunes from the top of an open-air Routemaster bus. There will also be performances from rockabilly band The Blue Note Outfit throughout the day on Saturday. Visitors can also take part in swing dancing lessons from dance collective Swing Patrol, see walkabout entertainment from authentic 1940s wartime dealer Viv the Spiv and visit the Snapcaravan, a vintage-themed photo booth in a restored Fisher Holivan caravan. On both days, a group of up to 150 Mods on classic Vespas will ride en masse from Bar Italia in Soho, arriving at Southbank Centre between 12 - 2pm.
