In Conversation with Stuart Sutcliffe
In Conversation with Stuart Sutcliffe is an internationally touring blockbuster exhibition. Staged in Hamburg, Liverpool, London and New York, the exhibition is conceived as a tribute to this British icon.
Stuart was one of the founder members of The Beatles, the original bass player during their early years in Hamburg, and a close friend of John Lennon. His sad and sudden death is part of Beatles' folklore, a poignant story of a young man whose promising career was tragically cut short.
As well as considering a lost talent by exhibiting Stuart's own work and a display of memorabilia, the exhibition will include a number of artists’ responses to his life and work.
Artists involved include Michael Ajerman, Andrew Bick, Kit Craig, Andrew Curtis, Nick Goss, Mark Hampson, Jann Haworth, Idris Khan, Serena Korda, Laura Lancaster, Bob Matthews, Bruce McLean, Marilene Oliver, Flora Parrott, Martina Schmid, Steven Scott, Jamie Shovlin, Sergei Sviatchenko, Jessica Voorsanger, Stephen Walter and Uwe Wittwer.
