The giraffe-limbed clown and raconteur is delighted to bring her Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated show to the Soho theatre. Think big. Think weird. Matthew Bourne would be proud. It's going to be fun. And sexy. Yeah, let's throw that word in there too. Graduate of L'Ecole Philippe Gaulier.
Drawing on her skills and training from L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier (as well as taking on specific new training for the show), expect a fabulous mash-up far surpassing a regular-stand up show: with elements of story-telling, mime and even ballet….
Yes: Elf Lyons is performing a full scale one-woman production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake - in an hour and possibly in French… - using whatever she can find on the day. Because she doesn’t think Tchaikovsky knew that much about Swans. For example, did you know that swans are not monogamous creatures? Neither did Tchaikovsky…. In a hilarious retelling of the tale, Elf uses this to reflect on intriguing topics such as polyamory, monogamy and fidelity in this “anything-is-possible”, ambious and hysterical hour.
