Time Travelling Operating Theatre

Travel through time with this immersive live theatre performance and get an insight into what operating theatres were like in 1884, 1984 and 2014. The event brings sets, costumes and trained medical professionals together to offer an authentic encounter with the changing face of surgical practice over the past 130 years.

Combining historical research with contemporary simulation science, Imperial College Centre for Engagement and Simulation Science is opening up discussion about surgery’s past, present and future to the public.

After the live re-enactment, join a discussion with clinicians, historians, medical ethicists and policy-makers that will explore what we have learnt from the past and how this could help the future of surgical practice.
