Sadler’s Sampled - Drumming

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker presents for the first time at Sadler’s Wells the full setting of Steve Reich’s seminal percussion work Drumming.

American minimalist composer Steve Reich’s work has been an important influence on De Keersmaeker’s work throughout her career ever since she created Fase (1982), her debut as a choreographer.

Reich’s powerful score is performed live by contemporary music ensemble Ictus, alongside 13 dancers in this energetic and skilfully choreographed piece.
