Connectome / Raven Girl
The Royal Ballet presents an evening of contemporary ballet exploring themes of identity and science as Wayne McGregor’s Raven Girl and Alastair Marriott’s Connectome return to the Royal Opera House.
Raven Girl is a modern day fairy-tale written by author Audrey Niffenegger and brings to life a compassionate story of difference and discovery. The ballet follows the story of a girl with the body of a human and the soul of a bird as she embarks on a journey to become her true self.
Connectome takes inspiration from the intricate map of neural connections in the brain. Set to a score by Arvo Pärt and featuring The Lord’s Prayer, the ballet narrates the journey of one woman’s changing sense of self as she moves between lovers and friends.
