Payare - Strauss
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents music by Mozart and Strauss.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is very grateful to Rafael Payare for agreeing to conduct this concert, replacing Charles Dutoit, who has recently stepped down as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestra.
Strauss’ tone poem Don Juan is followed by Mozart’s light-hearted and exhilarating Symphony No.35, known as the ‘Haffner’ Symphony.
Cellist Alban Gerhardt joins the orchestra for Strauss’ playful Don Quixote.
