The Polari First Book Prize is awarded to a work which explores LGBT experience.

This year's ceremony features Tom Rob Smith, Juliet Jacques, Charlie Flowers and Anny Knight, and includes the announcement of the 2015 prize.

Polari is a queer literary salon devoted to new and established talent. Resident at Southbank Centre, it has been described as 'The most exciting literary movement in London... crackling with energy, ideas and excitement' (Hungerford Post). Polari is curated and hosted by author and journalist Paul Burston, and won LGBT Cultural Event of the Year in the Co-operative Respect 'Loved by You' Awards 2013.

Tom Rob Smith is the bestselling author of the Child 44 trilogy. His latest novel The Farm was longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. His BBC2 series London Spy – starring Ben Wishaw and Charlotte Rampling – is being broadcast later this year.
