International Piano Series

Maurizio Pollini is revered worldwide as today's towering elder statesman of the piano.

He makes a welcome return to Royal Festival Hall.

The Italian pianist's performances here have always proved highlights of the season. In recent years, he has been praised for his `peerless, supremely authoritative performances' (The Guardian) in music ranging from Bach to Boulez by way of Chopin, Schumann and much more.

`One of the things that's always marked Pollini's playing is its urgency. It's the sense of being pulled forward that paradoxically gives Pollini's famously tranced, beautiful sound its special quality' (The Telegraph).
