Karama

Karama is a band formed by Moroccan oud player and composer Soufian Saihi in 2011.

Saihi’s compositions are inspired by sacred Gnawa music, as well as North African and Classical Arabic traditions.

Alternately meditative and funky, KARAMA’s songs explore migration, homelessness and the Arab Spring. Since the release of their first album One Year in London in 2011, the band’s music has been been heard on the BBC, MBC and Al Ghad Al Arabi.

The band features members from Venezuela, Spain, Japan, Morocco and the UK.
