Golden Man Booker Live
Don’t miss the literary event of the year, as the winner of the Golden Man Booker is announced.
The closing event of the festival, Golden Man Booker Live brings together a star-studded line-up to celebrate the crowning of the best work of fiction from the last five decades of the Man Booker Prize.
Five judges each discuss the novel they have chosen as the best of their allocated decade. Editor and writer Robert McCrum (1970s) has chosen In a Free State by V. S. Naipaul; poet Lemn Sissay MBE (1980s) has chosen Moon Tiger by Penelope Lively; novelist Kamila Shamsie (1990s) has chosen The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje; broadcaster and novelist Simon Mayo (2000s) has chosen Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel; and poet Hollie McNish (2010s) has chosen Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders.
The evening includes live readings from the shortlisted novels by actors and the announcement of the winner, as voted for by the public.
