Terence Blanchard

For this show, Blanchard unveils his ambitious E-Collective. Drawing on inspiration from Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew period they eschew the traditional soloist/accompaniment approach of jazz, in favour of a more loose-limbed style featuring continuous improvisation from each band-member. The individual solos are more prominent, but never overwhelm the music's collective approach. From free, extended improvisation to a groove that draws on funk and R&B, this is music for the heart, soul, mind and feet!
