Tamasha Theatre Company

2015 marks Tamasha’s 25th Birthday and to honour this landmark they’re hosting an extra special night to celebrate. This is your chance to raise a glass, share memories and look ahead to the next 25.

Tamasha is Britain’s foremost touring theatre company producing new plays inspired by the diversity of a globalised world. Tamasha's work places the voices of emerging and established artists from culturally diverse backgrounds centre-stage.

The centrepiece for the celebrations will be a retrospective scratch performance of Tamasha’s greatest hits directed by Tamasha Developing Artist and Theatre Royal Stratford East Resident Director Pooja Ghai and selected by Tamasha’s Co-Founder Sudha Bhuchar and Artistic Director Fin Kennedy.

The piece will include Untouchable (1989), Women of the Dust (1993), East is East (1996), Balti Kings (1999) A Fine Balance (2006), and Snookered (2013).

It will be performed by an ensemble cast and will showcase some of Tamasha's defining moments. This will be the first time such a retrospective is publicly presented, so don’t miss out.

The celebrations will also include a Q&A, short film about Tamasha, raffle, drinks reception, testimonies from Tamasha’s richly talented alumni and speeches from the Tamasha team and Board. And of course what birthday celebration would be complete without a cake!

Unlike Tamasha's other scratch nights there is no fixed fee to attend. However, they’re suggesting donations. As it’s their 25th year and it's a jammed packed evening they suggest a donation of £25.00. This is really a suggestion so do donate what you can.
