The Oldest Profession (A Rehearsed Reading)
If prostitution is the oldest profession then Mae, Vera, Lillian Ursula and Edna are some of New York’s City’s most seasoned prostitutes. Set in 1980 shortly before the election of Ronald Reagan, these five ladies face an uncertain future.
With rising overheads and an ever reducing income, they discuss how they are going to meet the challenges ahead. Both risqué and profoundly moving, the play takes an offbeat look at ageing, sexuality and mortality.
Please note this is a rehearsed reading, actors will be performing with books in hand.
Presented by special arrangement of Josef Weinberger, Ltd.
